Even when you prep yourself for it, you can't imagine the emotions, the high and lows of Entrepreneurship...
Everyone can warn you, it never tells the picture of what it is to launch and grow a business as you experience it when you do it.
You get excited by opportunities, by launching your site or that ad or your Facebook page. You put your whole heart in it.
Or clients pay you late, clients disappear canceled.
It's all part of the journey.
It's all part of a tough but worth-it learning curve.
SO WHAT TO DO WHEN THE DOOM AND GLOOM STRIKE?
TAKE A DEEP BREATH.
Meditation is known to help relieve stress. By anchoring yourself in your body, you can push away the anxiety and the thoughts that would drive you in further panic. If you feel it's too hard for you, taking a deep breath is a fantastic baby-step with immediate result.
If you don't know where to start, I offer one for you at the bottom of this blogpost.
FIND SOMETHING TO BE GRATEFUL FOR.
You can't have in your heart Fear/Anger AND gratefulness. As hard as it can be to feel grateful when things are hard, it is crucial to focus on what's good in your life to prevent these nasty thoughts to torpid your day.
DO SOMETHING THAT REFILLS YOUR TANK.
I keep a list of everything that helps me feel good for those moments when I can't even remember what would be good. Epsom bath, listening to Gregorian music, going for a walk, watching an episode of a good TV show, cuddle my cat. Create your own User Manual for all things that help you recover.
VENT AND/OR ASK FOR HELP in a trustful and supportive community.
Not all friends or family will understand what you go through. Most of the times, it's better to share these somewhere people GET you and your journey. Having your family's anxiety on top of your challenge, their doubts about your venture, this isn't the best thing to get back on your feet.
You can find many of these communities on Facebook. Some courses also have Slack groups you can join. Do make use of these. I know lurking only can be tempting when you are shy or an introvert but it will be so worth it if you step out of your cocoon.
SOAK IN POSITIVE CONTENT
Depending on your tastes, Pop to Youtube. Search for some Danielle Laporte, Tony Robbins, Abraham Hicks videos. Start with these 1st things in the morning instead of the news or your email.
I have done this the last couple weeks as I was feeling unsettled with everything that has been happening and it's been really useful to ground me to face the day.
VISUALIZE LIFE AS YOU WANT IT. AND TAKE A BABY-STEP TOWARDS IT.
When you imagine how it would feel to live like this, without any anger, envy or sadness, you can feel lighter and free to create what's needed to get there.
Action is liberating. It feels good to write down everything you do every day that brings you closer to your goal.
I've recorded a 2mn track of meditation to help you when you feel things are tough.
